WELCOME

We all have great potential for change.

I'm Kate.

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving the Santa Monica and greater Los Angeles community.

I approach my therapy as a collaborative process, using my experience and training, to help

my clients build the outcomes they’re looking for: managed anxiety, reduced depression, better relationships, and getting the most out of life.

Manifesto

Engage to Empower

For me, it’s how I approach my work as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and it’s how I help each client. I strive to empower you to figure out how to get the most out of life; not by asking you to do more, or to be more, but by encouraging you to work through the big questions with me.

By creating a safe space for you to immerse yourself in self-exploration, I encourage you to be authentic and unapologetically yourself. We envision a future and look to your past and present to guide us there. To figure out what’s working, and what might be holding you back; to let go of those things and create freedom to make meaningful choices. Together, we’ll walk through your personal journey, embracing ways to make lasting change, building a kit of tools to feel better, and talking through what you need to feel in order to grow.

Not sure which box fits best? Don’t worry--there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Therapy starts with a consultation session, which gives you the opportunity to learn more about therapy and the therapy process with me. It gives us a chance to get to know one another and see if I’m a good fit for you. After this consultation, once we’re feeling ready to start, it’s recommended that we meet to begin identifying and working toward your therapeutic goals.

About

Nice to Meet You

I’m Kate. I know how isolating it can feel to experience stressful events on your own, and so often, we can feel like a burden on our loved ones turning to them for support. So many of us walk around today’s world thinking we have to do it all, to take care of everyone else, and to wear a smile while doing it. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I will hold the space to help you find your inner voice and lead an authentically abundant life. To make sure you’re also caring for you. I don’t practice one-size-fits-all-therapy. Since becoming a licensed therapist in 2016, I’ve practiced following my clients’ lead and used my training as a guide in sharing and integrating their experiences.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Biology, with a concentration in Cognitive Science, from Wesleyan University.  Shortly after, and I moved to Chicago to work with a Clinical treatment program for families of children with ADHD and Autism. This helped me to focus my passion for helping others, and develop my clinical identity where I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Pepperdine University.

Now based in sunny Santa Monica,  I work with adults, couples, adolescents and families struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, or significant life changes.  I’m warm yet direct, interactive and authentic. As your advocate, I’ll work with you to explore what changes you want to make, and how to create the life you want to live.

ABOUT

In my years of practice, I have worked with a variety of adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, or significant life changes. I’ve spent a lot of time working with people transitioning from life at home to a life of more independence. Self-reliance is growing, opportunities are abundant, roles are changing, and social expectations are at their highest. This transition is thrilling, yet stressful--it’s a lot to handle! I enjoy working through this transition to co-create the life my clients want to live with them.
